Health action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

The Stop TB Partnership Secretariat is seeking nominations for governance positions on the Coordinating Board of the Stop TB Partnership.

The deadline for nominations is September 11 2013, 17:00 Central European Time.

These positions are:

  • The Vice-Chair of the Board
  • Two open seats on the Executive Committee of the Board
  • Membership and leadership of the Finance Committee of the Board

The call for nominations is part of the package of governance reforms approved by the Coordinating Board at its 22nd meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in November 2012 to improve its performance and its impact on TB. The Board tasked the Executive Committee to take forward the reform and manage the transition by the 23rd board meeting in Ottawa, Canada. That process was completed on time, and the new board is in place. It is now time to fill the governance positions mentioned above.

All nominations should be submitted to stoptbboard@who.int.

Please be aware that the nomination process and selection differs for each governance position.
