"Tilitonse" is a radio soap opera which was launched on Malawi Broadcasting Corporation on December 12, 2000.

The show will present human rights, responsibilities, rule of law, justice and democracy issues through the story of Mayinga, a driver from the government's vehicle hire office. Mayinga's driving assignments take him all over the country where he witnesses first-hand the transitions that are taking place in Malawi's new democracy.

This civic education soap opera is the creation of The Story Workshop Educational Trust, an educational media NGO in Malawi. The series is funded for 52 episodes by the UNDP Democracy Consolidation Programme through Malawi's Inter-Ministerial Committee on Human Rights and Democracy (IMCHRD). Additional funds have been provided by Bilance, the Netherlands, and the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA).
