HIV/AIDS Community Response Database - Global
The Pendulum Project and the Children's AIDS Fund (CAF) have launched an online database of programmes serving children affected by HIV/AIDS around the world. Database listings include grassroots programmes throughout the world that provide care and support to children affected, infected, and orphaned by HIV/AIDS. The new global online database is designed to:
Visitors to the Community Response Database may enter an organisation's name to find a specific group, or leave the search box blank to access a list of all records. Searches may also be conducted based on country name or type of activity.
Listings include a brief programme description, contact information, activity location, services offered, and areas of potential support.
Included in the database are community-based programmes, government agencies, NGOs, youth groups, health workers, associations of people living with HIV/AIDS, and individuals. As of this writing, there are approximately 50 entries in the database.
- Increase attention to the needs of HIV-impacted children
- Highlight successful grassroots responses to children's needs that are already underway
- Link organisations and facilitate networking and collaboration
- Connect grassroots programmes with potential donors who can provide financial, in-kind, and technical support.
