The Avian and Pandemic Influenza Strategic Communications Action Planner (ASAP) is a toolkit for programme officers engaged in strategic communications on Avian and Pandemic Influenza (A&PI). The overall goal of the toolkit is to standardise communication responses to avian flu across different organisations and regions around the world. The toolkit will be a web-based, interactive, easy-to-use resource providing access to websites, documents and emergency-preparedness models for developing A&PI communication programmes and products.
The initiative is being organised by a partnership of leading international organisations including the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Bank.
The toolkit will be developed by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs.
